Ink, Iron & Chrome: Canvas & Ink at the Hot Rod & Street Machine Festival
What a weekend!
The 57th Hot Rod & Street Machine Festival was an absolute massive success for Canvas & Ink, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better reception.
From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by everything
we love — incredible cars, passionate people, old-school style and a community that truly understands what it means to keep the culture alive.
More Than Just a Car Show
One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was connecting with so many people who don't just admire old-school cars — they live and breathe the lifestyle.
We had so many amazing conversations with customers about their cars, their memories and their own love of the old-school scene. One thing that really seemed to surprise and excite people was finding out that I personally draw and create all of the artwork behind Canvas & Ink's products.
For me, that's a huge part of what Canvas & Ink is all about.
Every design starts with a love of traditional tattoo art, classic cars and the culture surrounding them. I'm not interested in simply putting another car graphic on a T-shirt. I want to capture the character, attitude and nostalgia that comes with these cars and turn that into something you can wear, display and enjoy.
And judging by the response over the weekend, that connection really resonated with people.
The Cars... So Many Cars!
Trying to choose a favourite car from the festival was almost impossible.
There were so many incredible builds, restorations and original cars on display that you could spend hours walking around and still discover something you'd missed.
One of my personal favourites had to be the 1952 Chevy Suburban.
The ultimate family car!
There's just something about these old Suburbans that captures that golden age of motoring. They weren't built simply to look pretty sitting in a garage — they were built to be driven, to carry the family, to go on adventures and to become part of people's lives.
And that's what makes these cars so special.

Building Connections
The festival wasn't just about selling our products. It was also an incredible opportunity to meet people within the industry and make connections with other businesses, event organisers and people who share the same passion we do.
We had some fantastic conversations with event organisers about future opportunities for Canvas & Ink to attend their events, and we're really excited about where some of those conversations may lead.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Brom from Chrome Bumper, a magazine and YouTube channel dedicated to promoting the old-school lifestyle.
Meeting people who are actively working to celebrate and promote this culture was a real highlight for us. It's exactly the kind of community that Canvas & Ink wants to be part of.
We also met the lovely Adele from Tickle My Fancy, and it was fantastic to make another great connection with someone who shares our love of unique, old-school-inspired things.
These are the kinds of connections that make events like this so worthwhile.

And Then There Were the Mugs...
Our mugs were an absolute hit!
We sold a great deal of stock throughout the weekend, but our mugs definitely stole the show. It was fantastic seeing people picking out their favourite cars and designs and getting excited about taking a little piece of Canvas & Ink home with them.
Seeing customers genuinely excited about something I've drawn and created myself is one of the best parts of doing what I do.

Keeping the Old School Alive
But beyond the sales, the conversations and the incredible cars, there was something much bigger that really stood out to us over the weekend.
Australian car culture is alive and well.
The passion is still there.
Generation after generation, people are continuing to build, restore, drive and celebrate these incredible machines. They're sharing their knowledge, their stories and their love of cars with the next generation.
And that's exactly why I do what I do.
Canvas & Ink was born from a love of traditional tattoo art and classic cars, but it's also about preserving a piece of history and keeping the passion alive.
The golden age of motoring will never fade.
And it will never be replicated.
The cars, the craftsmanship, the styling, the sound and the culture that surrounded them belong to a very special time. We can't recreate that era, but we can keep the passion for it alive.
We can share it with our kids.
We can introduce the next generation to these cars.
We can tell the stories.
We can keep building them, driving them and celebrating them.
And we can create things that pay tribute to the culture that came before us.
That's what Ink. Iron. Tradition. means to us.
It's about respecting where the culture came from, celebrating where it is today and helping make sure the passion continues for generations to come.
Thank You!
To everyone who stopped by our Canvas & Ink stall, bought something, chatted with us, told us about your car, complimented our artwork or simply took the time to say hello — thank you.
Your support means more than you know.
To the event organisers, fellow stallholders, new friends and everyone who helped make the weekend what it was — thank you for welcoming Canvas & Ink into the scene.
We came to the Hot Rod & Street Machine Festival hoping for a great weekend.
We left with new customers, new friends, new opportunities, a whole lot of inspiration and an even stronger belief in what we're doing.
The old-school spirit is alive.
The cars are still being built.
The stories are still being told.
And we'll be here doing our part to keep it that way.
Ink. Iron. Tradition.
